Today I present you to a theme that will, probably, be fully enjoyed if we close our eyes and let ourselves be carried away to where our imaginations chooses to takes us. "Sospiro", from the dutch duet Bardo State, is a perfect mingle of ambient/chillout and lyrical chant, which results in a languid and near hypnotic sound.
This theme is included in the debut album (and the only one so far) of the duet - Mariposa - released in 2008. Bardo State define the musical genre of the album as a fusion of classical and pop with a refined blend of ambient and opera.
The first time I heard "Sospiro", however, was in one of the best musical series ever (to me, obviously!), called Buddha Bar. More specifically, Vol. IX of the series, released in 2007 and mixed by DJ Ravin, from which it does the opening honours.
Without further ado, I leave you with the musical theme "Sospiro". Oh, and if you listen carefully, at the end you can hear a Portuguese voice from Lisbon Airport calling passengers to board in a Portugália flight headed to Porto. It's not a mistake, it's the same when you listen to the CD! I hope you like it. See you next post.
